That’s what my friend and I have been contemplating for a few weeks now. He imported this 1989 BMW 318i from Germany, things snowballed, and we decided to document it via YouTube episodes:
I don’t need to tell you that these are great cars. We started with an e30 for the affordability of both cars and parts, front engine/rear wheel drive setup and a timeless design.
Don’t be fooled, that’s not a standard German plate - just a temporary plate to get it to the docks.
We’ve been going back and forth from E30 Spec, stock restoration, canyon cruising daily driver, swapped drifter or bagged show car - but I think we’ve made a decision.
If it were up to me, I’d like to chop the hatchback off and weld it on to a coupe to make an E30 hatchback, but that’s a project for another day.
Mmmmm, a nice clean European interior...
Check out the episode and let us know what you would do with it. As for us, we’re just having a ton of fun learning as we go. My friend is the owner of the gray E30 in this video I shot a while ago, so I’m confident that we can make this old station wagon look even better.
Why do I spend so much time in parking garages?
For now, we’re filming new episodes and hunting for a cheap, running E36, if you know what I mean.

The video with those E30's is awesome. What I would do with the wagon is lower it on some throwing stars and just daily/hoon the hell out of it.

Restore and park inside my hypothetical living room as a 1:1 static display model and import another for hooning.

These are some seriously awesome pictures!
You made that E30 video, right? It’s been a while since I’ve seen it, but keep up the good work. I love seeing stuff like that. It’s put together too well to even describe.

Thanks! That sounds great to me - and I think that’s the direction we’re going to take.

They’re so beautiful. Non car enthusiasts I’ve talked to think I’m so weird haha

Personally, I would be boring and just daily it. They look amazing, they drive well, and they’ve got the right amount of space. Very high up on my list of cars to get in the bear future, if possible.
